Dr. Cecilia S. Tong is a Bay Area native who has settled in Modesto. Dr. Tong is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Cell Biology and Integrative Biology. She then continued to the University of California Berkeley, School of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree.
She loves primary care optometry and places heavy emphasis on patient education and preventive care. Her special interest is in pediatrics and ocular disease including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and glaucoma. She is especially passionate about helping children with learning-related vision problems, strabismus, and "lazy eyes".
She received her clinical training at Alameda County Medical Center, Portland VA Medical Center, Livermore VA Medical Center, San Francisco Lighthouse, and Castle Family Health Center in Atwater.
Her hobbies include traveling, hiking and exploring different restaurants. She also likes exploring the Central Valley and its surrounding neighborhoods.
